Look at the Groups Facility
If parking is an issue for you, you are
having trouble recruiting staff because they can’t reach you,
or if you just want to do your staff (and your bottom line) a favour,
consider Groups. You can:
- Encourage your staff to join an existing
Public Group, like the Norwich Commuter Group
- Set up a new Public Group that’s
open to all, for free, that will benefit the whole area, business
park or industrial estate
- Set up a Private Group for a small charge
that’s just for your staff, business park or industrial
estate
A Public Group is the lowest cost option and
is completely hassle-free. It only takes liftshare a day or so to
set a new one up and there's no administration needed. All you have
to do is promote it to your staff.
However, since you have no administrative rights
over a Public Group you will not be able to monitor the numbers
of people joining or, for example, use the database to run a monthly
prize draw.
The Private Group facility enables you to establish
your own private car-sharing scheme under the umbrella of carsharenorfolk.com.
Your staff will be able to choose to search from the wider, national,
car sharing pool if they wish, but the default restricts journey
data and matches to within the Private Group. Some companies prefer
the added feeling of security this gives.
An Administrator nominated by you will have
access to some of the data on the Private Group for monitoring and
promotional purposes. This may be important if you have a Travel
Plan, or want to track uptake and usage. The data cannot tell
you if people are actually car sharing or how many people are in
the car, but you could e-mail all members and ask them.
All Group schemes can be accessed via carsharenorfolk.com
or liftshare.com. Private Groups can also be accessed direct from
your intranet or website at a small extra cost.
Whatever you decide, promotional materials
are available from Norfolk County Council either free of charge
or at a nominal fee to recover costs. Contact Alison Sayer on 01603
223132 or e-mail alison.sayer@norfolk.gov.uk
for details.
